Start the reference, then tap a steady pulse. The model will reveal their changing phase relation.

The left orbit is the delayed reference. The right orbit is the tap oscillator inferred from recent intervals. The lower dial shows their live phase difference. Moving points between the orbits are the delayed-reference coupling signal, not a second clock.

OBSERVATION CONTRACT

Timing relation, not performance

Each tap re-anchors a modeled oscillator. Recent intervals estimate its natural tempo; coupling pulls the model toward a delayed reference. The readings describe this model, not the person tapping.

WHAT TO WATCH

Drift can become a slip, then a lock

  • Tap slightly faster or slower than the reference to make the phase dial circulate and reveal a beat.
  • Raise coupling to pull the modeled tap oscillator toward the reference.
  • Increase delay to move the phase relation without changing the visible reference tempo.

A phase slip is recorded when the wrapped phase difference crosses its ±180° boundary.

OBSERVATION POLICY

This chamber observes a small oscillator model driven by tap timing. It does not measure rhythm ability, attention, health, or personal traits.
