Phase Transition Furnace

A visual phase-transition observation model for watching temperature, order, boundary, melting, freezing, and mixed states shift in a particle field.

phase Prototype

STATE FIELD

Heat, cool, stir, and seed a particle field to watch order loosen, boundaries appear, and mixed states flicker near a critical edge.
OBSERVING
First observation Use HEAT and COOL first. The same field can tighten into order, loosen into flow, or hold a flickering boundary near CRITICAL.
ORDER / BOUNDARY / ENERGY
particles 169 / temp 0.36
OBS-000 / PARTICLES / 00:00

SYSTEM NOTE

Watch the state change before naming it.

A visual phase-transition observation model. Not a thermodynamics simulator.

OBSERVATION POINTS

Order, boundary, and coexistence.

  • PARTICLES shows the field loosening or tightening as temperature changes.
  • ORDER makes local lattice structure visible before it melts into motion.
  • BOUNDARY and ENERGY reveal flickering mixed regions near the critical edge.

OBSERVATION GUIDE

Touchpoints for Observation

Observe a particle field changing between ordered grains, loose motion, critical flicker, and mixed boundaries.

  • Use HEAT, COOL, RANDOM SEED, and the four lenses to compare temperature, order, boundary, and energy without turning it into a material solver.
  • SOLID tightens the field toward local lattice order.
  • CRITICAL and MIXED PHASE make boundary motion and coexistence easier to read.

This is a visual phase-transition observation model, not a thermodynamics simulator.

Runs inside the browser with no upload and no registration.

SYSTEM NOTE

order ~= average closeness to local grain lattice. temperature adds motion, noise shakes the boundary, and coupling pulls particles back toward order. A visual phase-transition observation model, not a thermodynamics simulator.
