SYSTEM NOTE

A body or channel changes the grid because it becomes solid cells.

The display stays quiet: blue-scale speed magnitude, dark solid masks, pointer probe, and numeric before/after comparison.

OBSERVATION POINTS

Place, move, draw, compare.

  • Cylinder, Wall, Gap, and Nozzle presets rebuild the solid mask, not a decorative overlay.
  • Pointer probe reads the grid cell, speed, u, v, and solid state under the canvas pointer.
  • Capture baseline compares downstream speed, solid cells, inlet/outlet balance, divergence RMS, and projection residual.

SYSTEM NOTE

A 2D grid stores velocity u(x,y), v(x,y). The browser solver advects velocity, applies viscosity-like diffusion, projects pressure to reduce divergence, and rebuilds solid-mask boundaries from obstacles, walls, gaps, or nozzle presets.

Touchpoints for Observation

Observe how computed speed magnitude changes when the solid mask becomes a cylinder, wall, gap, nozzle, or a shape you draw.

  • Try Cylinder, Wall, Gap, and Nozzle presets, then move or draw obstacles and capture a baseline to compare downstream speed, solid cells, inlet/outlet balance, divergence RMS, and projection residual.
  • A gap can change the downstream speed sample because the available path is narrower.
  • A wall makes the field go around solid cells instead of through them.
  • The nozzle preset narrows the path using solid cells; it is still a grid experiment, not a wind-tunnel measurement.

This is a CFD-entry observation LAB for grid flow and solid masks. It is not engineering CFD, design validation, wind-tunnel measurement, or a Karman vortex-street solver.
